Dahlia ‘Senior’s Hope’

Dahlia ‘Senior’s Hope’, a new variety I spotted on Instagram and fallen in love with.

Highly rare dusky pink purple coloured dahlia with swirls, almost giving a blackcurrant ripple ice- cream effect, it is a flower arrangers dream.

At 80 cm tall it is perfect for the smaller garden or even a pot.

There are just a handful of these tubers available, sourced from our specialist supplier I have ordered extra to share with you the most discerning of my flower friends.

I’m absolutely thrilled that we’ve been able to include Dahlia ‘Senior’s Hope’ in our Annual Tuber Sale this year.

Flower type: Decorative
Height: 80 cm (Tall)
Flower Size: 12 cm
Position: Full Sun
Plant spacing: 60cm (min)
Pinch: when plants are 30cm tall

Cutting /Vase Life:
Dahlias do not continue to open once cut so pick when blooms are ¾ of the way open. Check the back of the flower head to check all the petals are perfect. The petals turn papery, drop and lose colour once they start to go over. Deadhead flowers to give plants back the energy to ripen the next flower rather than work on producing seed.

Place flowers straight into ready buckets of water, we rest our blooms for a few hours in water, this is called conditioning.
