Dahlia ‘Verrone’s Obsidian’
Dahlia ‘Verrone’s Obsidian’ is absolutely breathtaking. A perfect choice for both the small and the wildlife garden.
I’ll put my hands up and say ‘this is not the best cut flower’.
A single flowered variety, you have to be quick and catch the flower before the pollinators do. Velvety maroon flowers with glowing golden centres. Sultry and sophisticated, this dahlia is in a class all on its own.
Dahlia ‘Verrone’s Obsidian’ will be smothered with Bee’s and Butterflies all summer long.
We knew we would never have enough tubers to split for everyone that wanted one, so I have asked our supplier to provide me with a some extra tubers on my order so that I can share them with you.
Once you have one I know you are going to treasure it!
I’m absolutely thrilled that we’ve been able to include Dahlia ‘Verrone’s Obsidian’ in our Annual Tuber Sale this year.

Cutting /Vase Life:
For the best vase life pick Dahlia ‘Verrone’s Obsidian’ as soon as flowers open (before the pollen has set) once the flowers have been pollinated the petals tend to drop. Deadhead flowers to give plants back the energy to ripen the next flower rather than work on producing seed.
Place flowers straight into ready buckets of water, we rest our blooms for a few hours in water, this is called conditioning.
