Larkspur ‘Misty Lavender’

Delphinium Consolida ajacis

Exquisite smokey, misty, lavender grey spires will give your floral arrangements a real touch of class. Larkspur ‘Misty Lavender’ has an excellent vase life and you can even turn it into natural confetti.

Absolutely stunning in the garden, it mixes well with so many colours.

I tend to store my seed in the refrigerator or freezer prior to sowing to speed up germination.

Note: All parts of this plant are poisonous, including the seeds. Exercise caution around children and pets.

How to Grow:
Sow seed direct or into modules from Autumn till early Spring. Seeds need cold to break dormancy, the temperature fluctuations of a winter greenhouse create ideal conditions. Dislikes root disturbance. For more detailed growing instructions join our ‘Grow Along’ on Instagram

Cutting /Vase Life:
For the longest vase life cut when a third of the blooms are open. Delphinium ajacis can also be dried or used to make confetti…
To dry, let all but the top three to four flowers open, then pick and hang upside down in a warm, dry place out of bright light for 2-3 weeks.

Place flowers straight into ready buckets of water. We rest our stems for a few hours in water, this is called conditioning.
