Phlox drummondii ‘Blushing Bride’
Delicate ballet pink on white, absolutely essential for Weddings. This annual Phlox looks magnificent in a pot making it as popular with gardeners as it is with floral designers! I like to mix it with Phlox Crème Brûlée and Cherry Caramel.
Phlox drummondii ‘Blushing Bride’ is my go to staple when making arrangements. It can start off short but keep pinching off blooms at watch it grow taller.
So pretty that is looks good in a vase on its own….
How to grow
For an extended harvest I sow both early and late Spring. Seeds dark to germinate so exclude light. For more detailed growing instructions join our ‘Grow Along’ on Instagram
Variety: Phlox drummondii
Type: Half Hardy Annual
Position: Full sun
Germination: Up to 30 days
Harvest: June onwards (90 days to maturity)
Seeds per packet: 150 (approx. counted by weight)
Cutting /Vase Life:
Pinch and deadhead to create longer stems. Pick as soon as the flowers start to open, straight into ready buckets of water for fresh use. We rest our stems for a few hours in water, this is called conditioning. Petals are delicate so be careful to to splash, with careful conditioning blooms can last up to a week in water.
