Stock Apricot

Matthiola incana

My second poly tunnel crop after the Ranunculus but before the Zinnia’s go in. Stock Apricot is highly fragrant with tall, fluffy flowers. A cool weather plant it is just as happy growing outside in the garden giving armfuls of spires in June and early July.

After many trials I have selected this variety as well as Stock Malmaison Pink as one of the most rewarding stocks for you to grow.

Stock Apricot is easy to mix with other flowers and the colour adds a ‘touch of class’ to the garden and your arrangements.

Half of the plants will be single flowered, the other half double, so plant twice as many as you need, although I always find a use for all of them!!

How to grow:
Easy to grow, start seeds early in Spring allowing plants time to grow before the Summer heat pushes them into bloom. Provide support for nice straight stems. DO NOT PINCH Stocks, they flower just once per stem! Belonging to the cabbage family watch out for slugs and aphids.  For more detailed growing instructions join our ‘Grow Along’ on Instagram
