Wild Carrot Red

Daucus dara

This large flowered chocolate colored Queen Anne’s Lace is perfect to stop arrangements from being ‘too polite. Umbellifers in varying shades give floral artists an edge and gardeners a brilliant backdrop! It goes with everything… I love it!!

Dacus dara s also known as Queen Anne’s Lace. If you look at the flower in full bloom there is a red dot in the centre…

According to legend, this single dark flower represents a drop of blood shed by Queen Anne herself when she pricked her finger on a needle.

Towering at over 6ft tall it looks great planted en-masse, Very tolerant of poor soil conditions.

Grows best from an early Autumn or very early Spring sowing.

I use every stem of this brilliant filler flower!
